Community Tile Glazing Workshop

21c Museum Hotel St. Louis and Laumeier Sculpture Park invite you to join artist Renata Cassiano Alvarez for a free workshop to design and create a tile for a final sculpture, entitled “Passage” which will be on view at Laumeier later in the year. This is a drop-in workshop. Attendees are able to explore the Pop Stars! exhibition currently on display at 21c St. Louis.

“I would like for people to think about a moment in their lives (or a time, or a season) that marked a new beginning or stage,” says Cassiano Alvarez. “A moment that changed their lives significantly. As if they had entered a portal into a different version of their life. I think this prompt opens itself to having different points of entry, so that everyone that participates has something to contribute, regardless of their context or background.”

This event is free but RSVP is requested. Guests will participate in limited capacity tile-making sessions from 11am to 1pm in our main gallery space on the second floor. A coffee station will be available or guests are invited to order crafted drinks from Good Press Cafe or brunch at Idol Wolf.
