Coffee Talks at 21c Museum Hotel St. Louis is a monthly conversation series that creates space for critical conversations around healing, justice, and community transformation in St. Louis.
Join 21c St. Louis for an impactful conversation exploring how art therapy supports healing, emotional expression, and recovery for individuals navigating trauma. This month’s Coffee Talks conversation will feature Safe Connections Adolescent Clinical Manager Tamara Eberle, who will guide attendees through the role creative expression plays in helping survivors process difficult experiences, rebuild emotional safety, and reconnect with themselves and others.
Trauma often lives beyond words. Art therapy creates pathways for communication, reflection, and healing that traditional conversation alone may not always reach. Through this discussion, attendees will gain insight into how therapeutic art practices are used to support adolescents and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and abuse while fostering resilience, empowerment, and emotional regulation.
Key Discussion Points:
• Understanding trauma and its impact on emotional wellness
• How art therapy supports healing and recovery
• Trauma-informed approaches for youth and survivors
• Breaking stigma surrounding mental health services
• Building safer and more supportive communities
• The role of creativity in emotional regulation and resilience
